Terms of service

Thank you for choosing Brundee Blooms. Every dahlia tuber we offer is grown, harvested, assessed and prepared on our farm with considerable care. Our aim is to supply healthy, correctly identified and viable planting stock, rather than simply move tubers out the door.

By placing an order with Brundee Blooms, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. OUR DAHLIA TUBERS

All dahlia tubers sold by Brundee Blooms are grown and harvested by us on our farm. We do not purchase or resell tubers from other growers.

Each tuber is individually assessed during the digging and dividing process. We only offer stock that meets our standards for viable planting material.

Where possible, tubers will be supplied with a clearly developed eye. Where an eye is not yet visibly active, the tuber will retain an intact neck and connection to the tuber body sufficient to provide viable planting material.

Our catalogue may remain online throughout the year as a reference for the varieties we grow. Availability shown on the website does not necessarily mean that a variety will be offered in every year’s tuber sale.

Please note that a large, irregular, knobbly or cut-and-sealed tuber is not automatically defective. These characteristics can be normal for particular varieties or can result from preparing tubers for postage.

2. TUBER RELEASES & AVAILABILITY

Dahlia tubers will generally be released following the completion of our winter digging and dividing.

Additional stock may be released later in the season, subject to availability and the performance of the tubers following storage and planting on our farm.

Subscribers to our mailing list may receive advance notification of a tuber release before the sale is announced publicly.

All varieties are subject to availability. If a variety does not produce sufficient suitable stock, fails to store satisfactorily, or does not meet our quality standards, it may be withdrawn from sale.

We will not substitute a different cultivar without your approval. If we are unable to supply a variety that you have purchased, that item will be refunded.

3. WHEN TUBERS ARE SHIPPED

Tuber orders will begin shipping from mid October.

We deliberately do not rush dormant tubers into the mail simply to get orders out earlier.

Our tubers are grown in the South Coast climate and may take time to break dormancy. We wait until the stock is sufficiently developed and suitable for dispatch rather than sending completely dormant or questionable material.

Shipping dates may vary depending on seasonal conditions and the readiness of the tubers.

4. CULTIVAR ACCURACY

We take cultivar identification seriously.

Because our tubers are grown, harvested and divided entirely on our farm, we are able to maintain direct oversight of our planting stock.

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that each tuber is correctly labelled and packed as the cultivar purchased.

If you believe a plant has flowered incorrectly, please contact us with clear photographs of the bloom, plant and identifying label. We will assess the concern and work with you to determine the appropriate resolution.

5. ORDER LIMITS & ORDER CHANGES

To ensure that our limited stock can be shared fairly, certain varieties may have purchase limits.

We reserve the right to cancel, reduce or partially refund an order where:

● stock is unavailable or found to be unsuitable;

● a variety has been oversold due to an inventory error;

● an order exceeds an advertised purchase limit;

● an ordering or pricing error has occurred; or

● circumstances arise that prevent us from fulfilling the order as originally placed.

Where we cannot supply an item, we will refund the relevant amount rather than substitute another variety without your consent.

If you make an error when placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@brundeeblooms.com.au. We will do our best to assist, although changes cannot be guaranteed once an order has been packed or dispatched.

6. BIOSECURITY & POSTAGE RESTRICTIONS

Australian state and territory biosecurity regulations apply to the movement of plant material.

We currently do not accept dahlia tuber orders for delivery to Western Australia, the Northern Territory or Tasmania where applicable biosecurity restrictions prevent us from legally sending the material.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide an accurate delivery address and to ensure that the intended destination is permitted to receive the plant material.

We reserve the right to cancel and refund an order where biosecurity requirements prevent lawful shipment.

7. POSTAGE & PACKAGING

Dahlia tubers are carefully prepared and securely packaged for transport.

Orders are sent via Australia Post Express, unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Where multiple orders are placed separately and this results in postage being overpaid, we will endeavour to consolidate the shipment where practical and refund any surplus postage after dispatch.

Postage refunds are generally processed within 1–2 days of shipping. Your payment provider may then take additional time to return the funds to the original payment method.

8. DELIVERY & POSTAL DELAYS

Once an order has been correctly packaged and lodged with Australia Post, responsibility for the parcel’s movement through the postal network rests with the carrier.

We are not responsible for delays, loss, mishandling or damage caused by Australia Post after the parcel has been dispatched.

If tracking indicates that your parcel has been delayed or appears to be missing, please contact us so that we can assist where possible.

Please ensure your delivery address is correct when placing your order.

9. RECEIVING YOUR TUBERS

Please open and inspect your parcel promptly after delivery.

We recommend checking the condition of your tubers within 48 hours of receipt.

If there is an obvious problem with an item, please email brundeeblooms@gmail.com as soon as possible and include:

● your order number;

● photographs of the tuber;

● photographs of the packaging where relevant; and

● a brief description of the issue.

Photographs are essential so that we can properly assess the problem.

Claims relating to tuber condition must be made within seven days of delivery. Claims received outside this period may not be eligible for replacement or refund.

10. TUBER VIABILITY AFTER DELIVERY

Dahlia tubers are living plant material. Once they have been delivered, their ongoing condition depends on how they are handled, stored and grown.

We provide growing and storage information to help customers give their tubers the best possible start. However, we cannot control the conditions in which tubers are stored after delivery.

Customers are responsible for monitoring their tubers during storage and ensuring that they remain in an appropriate environment.

Tubers can deteriorate if exposed to excessive moisture, heat, cold, dehydration, mould or unsuitable storage conditions.

For this reason, we cannot accept responsibility for tubers that become damaged or non-viable after delivery as a result of storage, handling, planting or environmental conditions outside our control.

11. GROWING CONDITIONS

Dahlia performance varies considerably between locations.

Climate, soil, drainage, temperature, humidity, pests, disease pressure, watering practices and general growing conditions can all influence the performance of a plant.

We strongly recommend adapting growing practices to suit your own local conditions.

Dahlias should generally be planted once the risk of frost has passed. In many parts of Australia this is around early November, but planting times vary considerably between regions.

Please use local conditions as your guide rather than relying solely on a calendar date.

12. REFUNDS & NON-SUPPLY

Unicorn Tuber Limit

Please note: Unicorn Tubers are strictly limited to ONE per household. Any attempt to purchase more than one — including through multiple orders or accounts — will result in the additional item(s) being cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel the entire order and restrict future purchases where limits are deliberately circumvented.

These tubers are exceptionally limited, and we want to give as many growers as possible the opportunity to grow them.

Please play fair. Greed will not be tolerated.

If we determine before dispatch that a purchased tuber has not remained viable or does not meet our quality standards, we will notify you and refund the affected item.

We do not routinely substitute unavailable varieties.

Where an order cannot be fulfilled in full, we will refund the unavailable portion of the order.

Any refund will normally be made to the original payment method used for the purchase.

13. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

By purchasing dahlia tubers from Brundee Blooms, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

These conditions are intended to provide a clear understanding of what you can expect from us as a grower and what is reasonably required of you as the recipient of living plant material.

We genuinely want every tuber we send out to have the opportunity to become a great plant. Our commitment is to supply carefully grown, correctly identified and thoughtfully prepared stock, while recognising that the journey from tuber to flower continues in your hands.

Thank you for supporting Brundee Blooms and for growing with us.
